Irish Owned Datacenter Launches Pan European Expansion Plan

Citadel100, one of Europe’s leading Datacenter owners and operators uniquely specialising in the design, build and operation of 100% availability wholesale Datacenters, today announced that Keppel Telecommunications and Transportation (T&T) Limited has acquired a 50% stake in its’ Dublin Datacenter business. Under the terms of the agreement Keppel, through its wholly-owned subsidiary DataOne(Asia), paid E12 million to Real Capital International (RCI) consisting of 10.5million for the assignment of 50% of the loan capital (amounting to E25.7m) to DataOne and E1million for 500 new shares in Citadel100. RCI is a holding vehicle for the technology investments of Noel Meaney and Chris Nightingale, and has been the owner of Citadel100 since 2002.

Citadel100 has operated the state of the art 6,500 square meter Datacenter in Dublin, since 2002 and is currently 95% let on long term colocation to some of the world’s largest Technology companies.

Demand for high power density Datacenter facilities has exploded as demand for high availability, business continuity and disaster recovery facilities continues to increase – particularly in light of the implementation of financial regulations such as Basel II and Data Protection Laws. It is anticipated that the Citadel100-Keppel partnership will result in the construction and operation of other world-class facilities in a number of yet to be announced locations throughout Europe.
